Alpha Nurseries was established in 1999 to supply the conservation, ornamental and Christmas tree markets with a wide variety of planting material. All of our products to date are produced from either seed or cuttings. We grow 180 species of plants, marketing these throughout the northern US. The nursery is set along the dunes of the eastern shore of Lake Michigan. The area is famous throughout the country for providing a great growing medium to produce high quality root systems. The coarse soil structure allows for a very high percentage of the secondary and hair roots to be harvested in the digging process. This translates into higher survivability and diminished transplant shock for our customers.
